Planning a Las Vegas Vacation

Planning a Las Vegas Vacation

It seems as though there are a million activities to do when visiting Las Vegas, especially when you read about all the attractions before you arrive in the city. However, after many people finally arrive to the great Las Vegas city they oftentimes find that there are millions of more things that can be done around Las Vegas. Whether it’s gambling at the famous scenes of the Las Vegas casinos or its simply relaxing to enjoy your stay at the world-class hotel that you’ve made reservations at, there is always going to be plenty to do and see in Las Vegas. Here are some major attractions that you don’t want to miss while planning your trip to Las Vegas:

The Adventuredome

When thinking about your trip to Las Vegas one of the words that probably came to mind was “adventure.” However, you can also experience a real adventure by going to the Adventuredome in the Las Vegas Strip. Not many people realize that this attraction is in Las Vegas until they actually arrive, but the Adventuredome is made to attract all sorts of people even though families, kids, and teenagers are the ones who you’ll see hanging out here the most. However, there is a lot to do within this 5-acre building. Whether you want to ride on the many rides that are available or play games throughout the Midway Game portion of Adventuredome, the possibilities are literally endless.

Some of the interesting rides and attractions that are located inside the Adventuredome in Las Vegas include the Canyon Blaster Roller Coaster, the Xtreme Zone, plenty of clown shows, as well as plenty of arcade games to choose from. There is also a putt-putt golf course, as well as a rock climbing wall for all to enjoy!

The Fashion Show Mall

If you thought that your trip to the mall ended with your local mini-mall then you may just want to check again. In Las Vegas, the awesome Fashion Show mall has plenty of opportunities to shop at the over-200 stores and restaurants available. This mall is so named, though, because the many fashion shows that take place here are usually regular occurrences. Some of the major stores that sit in the Fashion Show Mall include Bloomingdales, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Abercrombie and Fitch, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Ann Taylor, as well as a whole host of other ones that are just too numerous to name!

The M&M World

This is a really interesting and creative Las Vegas store, but the M&M World incorporates everything M&M related into their store, and actually contains two huge floors that are fully devoted to the chocolate candies that many people in America love!

All in all, it is really possible to easily find something that one can enjoy while planning a vacation to Las Vegas. These are some of the more interesting attractions that are still equally as popular as the many casinos in Las Vegas. All of these attractions, though, offer the excitement of a lifetime for any and all who choose to come!

Trade Shows in Las Vegas Convention Center

With an infamous moniker as the “Sin City”, this highly- urbanized town in Nevada is not just home to casinos but as well as to a whole lot of other forms of amusements. It was reported that in 2003, there were about 5.6 million people who went to Las Vegas just to attend events that showcased various products from different companies. That alone generated revenues that amounted to approximately $5.6 billion dollars.

Having trade shows in Las Vegas Convention Center are very much popular. In fact, the said venue has been identified to be the largest host of marketing affairs than any other in the United States. Presently, the place has nine million square feet of space. You can just imagine how huge it is. However, that already includes the recent expansion of the South Hall as well as the annex building in the Mandala Bay area.

Trade shows in Las Vegas Convention Center are very much convenient to guests. It is domiciled in the Las Vegas Valley so the venue is only a few meters away from landmarks such as hotels, malls and restaurants. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is the association responsible for accommodating all the trade shows in Las Vegas Convention Center. LVCVA has a two- fold mission where one is to assist in the inventory of the vicinity’s lodging houses by constantly working on improving the number of tourists who visit in the Clark County. The second is to take control operations of the union’s facilities.

Occupying a land of 20, 340 square foot rotunda, the Las Vegas Convention Center opened its doors on April 29, 1959. By then there were 18 meeting rooms with a 90, 000 square foot hall where exhibits can be accommodated. Even just within a year of business, the venue was able to hold about 22, 519 delegates. For more than four decades after, a 1.3 million square foot development started. The project was financed by the income bonds from the taxes collected.

Not only accommodating trade shows in Las Vegas Convention Center, LVCVA also looks into the tourism side. It has been a major site for special meetings that has given much economic boost. The union also runs the Cashman Center which is now celebrating its 20th year. Encompassing a site of 534, 000 square feet, the said venue sits on a 50 acre estate. 2006 World Series of Poker

2006 World Series of Poker

Deuces Wild Natural Four Sevens
The 2006 World Series of Poker season is set up to surpass what was achieved in 2005 by Harrah’s. With the start of the WSOP Circuit Tournament series on August 11, 2005 and ending with the regular WSOP tournament that will begin on June 26th, Harrah’s put into motion the basis for giving the world top level poker action year round. The number of WSOP Circuit Tournament events was increased from last year’s 5 events to 12, allowing basically an event each month. Each winner of the Main Event from these WSOP Circuit Tournaments besides winning a nice sum of money and a beautiful ring, received a freeroll entry into the Tournament of Champions.
For 2006, the World Series of Poker tournament that begins on June 26th at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada, will feature 44 separate events verses last years 45. But there will be sizable changes in Event 38 which is the Main Event. Harrah’s is gearing up for 8000 poker players to descend on the tables with the first day being split up into four rounds, (Day 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D), each round handling 2000 players per session. With the entry fee still at $10,000 per person, the potential prize pool for the Main Event could reach $80,000,000! This would surpass the figures for 2005 in which 5,619 entrants and a prize pool of $52,818,610 were the final statistics. Expect a huge portion of players to win their seats from online poker rooms. Beginning on July 28th, the Main Event action will continue over a period of 13 days ending on August 10th.
Harrah’s also plans to host the World Series of Poker Lifestyle show that will be held during the first week of the Main Event from July 27th to the 31st. It will happen in the Rio’s 55,000 square foot Pavilion Convention Center, so attending won’t keep anyone too far away from the table action. Last year there were 100 vendors that featured the biggest online poker rooms, poker magazines, poker gift shops some with poker jewelry and even a booth hosting Marcel Luske, the Flying Dutchman. 55,000 visitors came through the aisles in 2005 to learn, see and experience everything related to poker.
The only group of people who could have a better perspective on the poker industry would be the fortunate few who become champions. These lucky players have not only received offers of endorsement, partnership in online poker rooms, but have begun to achieve celebrity status. Book deals, video games, TV shows, freeroll tournament invitations to big money poker tournaments overrun these individuals. Why? Sponsors who anxiously want to sink big money into poker related events want these people on their side. Joseph Hachem, the 2005 Main Event winner, recently announced his decision to leave Australia to live in Beverly Hills, California because of the earning potential of opportunities received since becoming champion. This came after winning a major victory in Australia’s courts that let him keep his $7,500,000 won in the WSOP Main Event — tax free! He even has top level talent agency William Morris helping him to sort out the best offers.
With the allure of money, status and celebrity fame, the World Series of Poker has become one of the premier events on the planet to follow. And 2006 will be no exception, giving the public more of what it has been waiting for.

The Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience

Considering that there are opportunities at every corner that you turn, Las Vegas really is a haven for those who want to gamble, play the slot machines, and have plenty of fun. But there is actually plenty more to do than just gamble at the many casinos throughout Las Vegas. Indeed, the Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience isn’t simply called the “experience” for no reason at all. There is plenty to do while your outside of the casino and hitting the town. Here are just a few of the exciting features and things that one will be able to have while gathering as much of the Fremont Street Experience as possible!

Amazing LED Displays

There are plenty of LED displays for those visiting Las Vegas. In fact, the lights display that are always on is actually called a “canopy” of lights. But considering how many LED lights are used for this Las Vegas attraction, the main part of the Fremont Street Experience, should shed light on the fact how much work this all took. A couple interesting facts about the canopy of lights that pedestrians and visitors always love looking at include that there are over 12 million of these LED lights. In addition, the canopy is also capable or producing more than a half-million watts of amazing sound!

Pedestrian Grand Mall

The whole pedestrian mall is filled with beautiful music at all times in this great Las Vegas area. However, the only time that music is not being played is when the light and sound shows are displayed. In fact, the light and sound shows usually go on regularly on the Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience and there are plenty of songs and lights that the city of Las Vegas uses in order to attract, entice, and satisfy their visitors and tourists. Some of the more interesting songs that are played to light shows include “American Freedom,” “Lucky Vegas,” “Area 51,” as well as “The Drop.” Many people will tell you that they have an incredible time watching the light and sound shows available on the malls and they are usually too good for anyone to pass up the opportunity to enjoy the true Las Vegas city!

The Neonopolis

Just when you thought that you have seen it all as far as shopping malls go, the Las Vegas experience truly turns the city into a plethora of shops, entertainment opportunities, as well as hundreds of restaurants that can be enjoyed. Many people enjoy walking downtown Las Vegas just to be able to experience Neonopolis, which is an amazing pedestrian mall in its own rite.

There you have it: the amazing details of a whole lot of experiences that could be had by simply visiting outside the casino walls in Las Vegas. Why Las Vegas is Better than New York City

Why Las Vegas is Better than New York City

There is literally a laundry list of reasons that one should refer to when talking about why Las Vegas is so much better than New York City, but the fact of the matter remains that Las Vegas has plenty of opportunities that New York City simply doesn’t.
For starters, there is very little gambling that takes place within New York City compared to Las Vegas, so naturally the opportunities that one has to win are so much greater in Las Vegas! In addition, the whole set up of Las Vegas is so much better than when compared with the Broadway of New York City. Broadway may have a few upscale hotels and famous shows on the area, but the Las Vegas Strip has many more world-renowned hotels, casinos, along with many more shows that people are able to attend. Here are some more reasons, though, that Las Vegas is better than New York City:

More Attractions and Better Transportation

Even though there are plenty of attractions within Manhattan and New York City, more often than not it usually takes a very long cab ride to get around, or at least it takes someone who is skilled in the travels of New York City. On the other hand, there are literally hundreds of attractions, shows, rides, and shopping malls within walking distance if you are spending the day on the Las Vegas Strip. In addition, cab rides and public transportation do not cost an arm and a leg like they do in New York City. A simple bus fare only costs $5 per day in the Las Vegas Strip, while a cabbie in New York City and Manhattan may cost upwards of $15 just for a one-way ride!

Better Hotels and Restaurants

It is an undisputable fact that there are plenty of professional and upscale restaurants located throughout the heart of Manhattan. However, there are plenty more places throughout all of Las Vegas that contain the best of the best world-class restaurants one could ever eat in. For example, a few of the upscale restaurants located in the world-renowned Bellagio Hotel and Casino, as well as other places throughout Las Vegas, are the Prime, Shintaro, Rosemary’s (started by Emeril Lagasse), as well as Sensi and Jasmine.

The hotels are another matter to debate, though. Even though New York City may have places like The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Las Vegas has plenty of other resorts and hotels that are not only geared toward everyone visiting Las Vegas, but also contain many themes as well. A couple of the better-themed hotels in the Las Vegas Strip include the Circus Circus, as well as the Treasure Island Resort!

As you can see, then, there is plenty more to be thankful for when one visits Las Vegas than New York City. But on the erring side and benefit of New York City, the whole area of Manhattan is quite a different place than Las Vegas. Nevertheless, though, Las Vegas contains some of the most famous hotels, casinos, and shows throughout the whole world!
